About RFEN

Building a future where rural farming communities thrive through collective empowerment and sustainable development.

Our Mission

To empower rural farming communities in Southeastern Liberia through group-based agricultural production, shared resources, and collective market access—breaking cycles of poverty and building sustainable livelihoods.

We believe that when farmers organize collectively, they gain the strength to transform their economic futures.

Our Vision

A prosperous Southeastern Liberia where farming communities are economically independent, food-secure, and able to provide quality education and healthcare for their families.

A region where agricultural innovation and collective entrepreneurship create dignified opportunities for all.

Replication & Scale

Successful models cascade to reach more communities, multiplying impact across the region.

Why RFEN Exists

Southeastern Liberia is home to industrious farming communities, yet they remain trapped in cycles of poverty. Individual farmers operating in isolation face:

  • Limited access to quality tools and inputs
  • Weak market access and unfair pricing
  • Post-harvest losses due to lack of processing facilities
  • Limited financial literacy and record-keeping systems
  • Lack of training in modern agricultural techniques

RFEN solves these problems by organizing farmers into powerful groups. When farmers work collectively, they gain bargaining power, can invest in shared equipment, execute quality training programs, and build the systems needed for sustainable income generation.
